Your dad is adorable (I had a real problem spelling that…)!
He’s nerdy and pushy and nosy but so are the rest of us, so we keep him around.

Your dad has more morals than mine. Good for him. :) I have very vivid memories of my dad dragging me across a picket line to go pick up groceries when I was about six or so.
That’s such a bizarre memory to have. I don’t think it really has to do with morals in my dad’s case, though. In general my dad is a people person in a way that I really can’t comprehend. He’s still in touch (and has been consistently for decades preceding facebook) with a lot of his friends from elementary and high school. He enjoys Jewish Geography far more than a person should. A lot of his patients are employees of various stores (cashiers, managers) and he loves (in a really odd way) talking to them about, like, what kind of cheese they should start stocking. He’s also kept abreast of the progress of the family feud and lead up to the strike. I think that it’s really the personal connections he’s made with grocery store employees in particular over the years that kept him from going in and obtaining the cheap produce he loves so much.

Market Basket? :)
Yes! Are you feeling the pain as well? The closest one to BU campus is in Cambridge or Somerville and when I got my apartment at the beginning of last year my dad sat me down and said, very seriously, like he was revealing a secret, “Leah, even if you took a cab there and back, it would still be cheaper to shop there than at Shaw’s.”
(I think his mindset is for a family of eight, not one person, but either way I did not follow his advice. That can be our secret.)

It’s inevitable. Sometimes, your friends are going to make decisions that you just don’t agree with. And sometimes, your only job is to be supportive. But if you watch your friend make a decision that can hurt them without speaking up… then what kind of friend are you?
If you’re not going to comic con clap your hands.
If you live no where near it clap your hands.
if your favorite cast is showing and you’re dying ‘cause you’re not going.
then go ahead and cry and clap your hands.
